A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PIAINVIEW,
EXTESDING TIME FOR CONSIDERATION OF THE SOUTHWESTERN
PUBLIC SERVICE RATE INCREASE REQUEST.

WHEREAS, Southwestern Public Service Company has filed a rate
increase request with the Public Utility Cc~mission of Te~s and with
all cities served by Southwestern Public Service on Au~3ust 30, 1985; and
WHEREAS, Section 43 (a) of the Public Utility Regulatory Act
requires action on or allows implementation of tb~ proposed rate
increase after thirty-five (35) days from filing; and
WHEREAS, section 43 (d) of said Act allows suspension of the
operation of a rate increase for an initial period of ninety (90) days
for further study of such request; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Plainview finds that
additional time is required for study of the proposed rate increase
request and to conduct a public hearing as is required by Section 43 (c)
of said Act;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas:
S~CTION 1. That operation of the proposed revisions of tariffs and
schedules filed on August 30, 1985, by Southwestern Public service
Cc~0any is hereby suspended for a period of ninety (90) days from the
effective date hereof to allow adequate ~ for study and to conduct a
public hearing before making a final determination on said request.
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall bec~ne and be effective ~n
and after its adoption.
