A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Plainview,
Texas Revising Project Elements and Amending Recreational
Project Budget for the Plainview Parks Project (Bureau of
Outdoor Recreation Project No. 48-00799).
Whereas, the City Administration advised the Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department in 1982 of its intention not to develop
Frisco Parks as in original grant, and
Whereas, the Parks advisory Committee on June 6, 1985 voted
unanimously to affirm the City Administration's decision not
to develop Frisco Park, and
Whereas, all development work and installation of planned
improvements have been completed at Givens Park, Lakeside
Park and the Frisco Park area in accordance with B.O.R.
Grant Project No. 48-00799 as previously amended,
Now, Therefore be It Resolved by the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas:
1. The City Council authorizes the deletion of all
improvements at the Frisco Park area not already completed,
and authorizes the City Administration to pursue return of
the property to its original owners, the Merryman Estate,
and
2. The Parks Department complete all necessary
affadavits, budgets and documentation for the Final Billing
to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in accordance with
State guidelines in order to complete and finalize the
Project.
