RESOLUTION NO. R80-222
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
(CITY COUNCIL, COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT, INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT) of PLAINVIEW, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, on September 1, 1.979 Senate Bill 621 became effective and
mandated that all taxing jurisdictions (except County) become a part
of a central appraisal office; and
WHEREAS, the eleven independent taxing jurisdictions of Hale
County officially cast their vote creating an electing the five member
Board of Directors for the Hale County Tax Authority. The number of
competent professional appraisal companies is limited in the State of
Texas and by the year 1982, 254 tax authorities will have been created
and competing for their services. At the continuing increased rate
of inflation professional salaries, fuel, and supportive supplies and
material will be considerably more expensive by the mandatory date
specified in Senate Bill 621 for all taxing jurisdictions to become a
part of a central appraisal office:
NOW, TF~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CI'TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, a member of the Hale County Tax Authority, desires to exercise
good fiscal responsibility of the Citizens tax dollar by instruction the
Board of .Directors of the Hale County Tax Authoril;y to proceed in the
creation of the Tax Authority Office with the emp].oyment of proper staff,
and to proceed with the selection process and emp]
competent appraisal company to begin inventoring
parcels within the tax authority. Furthermore, tt
