A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS EXTENDING THE CONTRACT WITH PLANK
COATING, INC. OF ODESSA, TEXAS TO INCLUDE THE CLEANING,
SANDBLASTING, REPAIRING AND RECOATING OF THE ELEVATED
STEEL WATER STORAGE TANK LO£ATED AT 7TH AND BEECH STREETS.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview budgeted $60,000 of Revenue
Sharing for Water Tower Improvement; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. R80-254 awarded a contract for cleaning,
sandblasting, repairing and recoating of elevated steel water tanks
in the amount of $44,035 to Plank Coatings, Inc. of Odessa, Texas;
and
WHEREAS, the elevated steel water storage tank located at 7th and
Beech Street needs to be refurbished; and
WHEREAS, the balance of the budgeted Revenue Sharing Funds are
available:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor-and City Council
of the City of Plainview, Texas to extend the contract with Plank
Coatings, Inc. of Odessa, Texas to include the Cleaning, sandblasting,
repairing and recoating of the interior of the elevated steel water
storage tank located at 7th and Beech Streets.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 8th day of July, 1980.

We aa'e pleased to quote you $9,435.00 turnkey to. furnish labor,
materials and insurance to perform the following work:

Sandblast all interior areas to remove t.oose r~st, mill
scale, oil an~dirt and make sure that mil areas of
existing .good coating receive a light s~Jilmsti~ to
provide a good anchor pattern.
Brush all interior rivets and seams using-5.O%tkinne~
Mobil ~78-D-Tbuff (allowing it to dry f,r 3Om inures).
then spray all rivets and seams-with Mobil ~-D-? buff;
Spray final coat of Mobil #?8-D-3 white on all imterior
areas, leaving a minimum dry film thick~ess of
on the open surfaces and a minimum dry fil~ thickness
of 15 mils on the rivets and seams and extending to ½"
to 1" on either side of them,
Disinfect tank as described in existing co~tract.
