WASTEWATER PERMIT
RESOLUTION NO. R88-104
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF' THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO RETAIN CONSULTANTS IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE CITY IN
RETAINING THE APPROPRIATE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
PERMIT.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview recently comp'leted modifications
to its sewer facilities, costing nearly $2,000,000.00; and
W~RREA$, the project was completed under the EPA Construction
Grant Program administered by the Texas Water Development Board;
and
WHEREAS, the modifications were made to provide a capacity of
treatment to meet effluent limits of the 30mg/1 BOD5 and 30mg/1 TSS
(30/30); and
WHEREAS, the Texas Water Commission, has proposed that the City
permit requirements be lowered to meet 20/20 standards; and
WHEREAS, preliminary estimates show that in order to meet said
improvements the cost may be well in excess of $2,000,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Plainview
for the City to secure the reissuance of a 30/30 permit; and
W~RREAS, in order for the City to improve its chances in
securing the reissuance of a 30/30 permit it is necessary to retain
consultants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas that the City Manager is authorized to retain
Consultants to assist the City in its efforts to retain a 30/30
permit from the Texas Water Commission.
