R89-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR MISCELLANEOUS ENGINEERING CONSULTING AND DESIGN SERVICES WITH PARKHILL, SMITH & COOPER, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Plainview periodically needs to utilize an engineering firm for miscellaneous engineering consulting and design services; and WHEREAS, the City of Plainview has used Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., for these services for many years; and WHEREAS, a letter of agreement for those services attached and hereby made a permanent part of this Resolution. is NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with Parkhill, Smith & Cooper to furnish miscellaneous engineering consulting and design services to the City for the calendar year 1989. Blackburn, City Attorney January 15, 1988 City of Plainview P.O, 1870 Plalnview, Texas 79072 Gentlemen: We propose to furnish miscellaneous engineering consulting and design ser- vices to the City during the calendar year 1988 as directed by the authorized representatives of the City either verbally or in writing. The fee for miscellaneous services shall be salary cost times a multiplier of 2.10 plus reimbursement for direct non-labor and sub-contract expense at invoice cost times a multiplier of 1.15. Fees will be billed quarterly. Salary cost is defined as the salaries of engineers, architects, drafters, typists, clerks, etc. for the time directly chargeable to the project plus normal payroll expenses. The salary schedule on January 1, 1988 is: Principal Engineer/Architect Project Engineer/Architect Design Engineer/Architect Engineer-in-Training Resident Project Representative Grants Coordinator Drafters Clerical $18.08 to $28.63 per hour S15.35 to $20.60 per hour $12.66 to $18.18 per hour $11.51 to $15.02 per hour $ 9.46 to $16.51 per hour S 9.02 to $12.97 per hour $ 7.06 to 815.02 per hour $ 7.06 to 813.06 per hour The salary schedule is adjusted each January sccording to the Cost Price Index published by the Department of Labor. O~ projects where the construction costs will exceed $100,000, a separate en§ineerim§ fee will be negotiated. You may indicate the acceptance of this agreement by returning a signed copy of this letter to our office. We will consider the return as our authorization to perform engineering and design services as directed. This agreement may be cancelled by written notice by either party.
