RESOLUTION NO. R89-127
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS AWARDING BIDS FOR NINE (9)
TRUCKS OF VARIOUS SIZES AND CAPABILITIES, TWO (2)
ARTICULATED MOTOR GRADERS, AND ONE (1) BACKHOE-LOADER-
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Council has duly advertised,
opened, and tabulated bids for nine (9) trucks of various sizes
and capabilities, two (2) articulated motor graders, and one (1)
backhoe-loader; and
WHEREAS, Gardner Chevrolet of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for the 1/2 ton long wheel base pickup in the amount
of $11,640, and the City has allocated $12,000 from the Traffic
and Street Vehicle Replacement Funds for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Gardner Chevrolet of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for the 3/4 ton 4-wheel drive pickup in the amount of
$14,795, and the City has allocated $15,000 of Water Reclamation
Department Funds for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Gardner Chevrolet of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for the 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive pickup in the'amount of
$15,904.85, and the City has allocated $14,500 of the Park
Department Vehicle Replacement Fund for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Gardner Chevrolet of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for the two (2) 3/4 ton cab and chassis in the amount
of $11,625 each, and the City has allocated $11,500 of Park
Department and Sanitation Department Vehicle Replacement Funds for
said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Gardner Chevrolet of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for one (1) 3/4 ton cab and chassis in the amount of
$12,475 and the City has allocated $15,175 of Traffic and Street
Vehicle Replacement Fund for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Jack Morris Ford of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for the 1 ton cab and chassis in the amount of
$11,342, and the City has allocated $15,200 of Traffic and Street
Department Funds for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Jack Morris Ford of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for one (1) 2 1/2 ton cab and chassis in the amount
of $16,843.99, and the City has allocated $19,000 of the Traffic
and Street Department Funds for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Jack Morris Ford of Plainview, Texas has submitted
the best bid for the 6 ton tilt cab .and chassis in the amount of
$41,575.11, and the City has allocated $42,000 of the Sanitation
Department Funds for said purchase; and

WHEREAS, Yellowhouse Machinery Company of Lubbock, Texas has
submitted the best bid for the 135 H.P. motor grader in the amount
of $74,358 and the City has allocated $75,000 from the Sanitation
Department Funds for said purchase; and
WHEREAS, Yellowhouse Machinery Company of Lubbock, Texas has
submitted the best bid for the 155 H.P. motor grader in the amount
of $77,284 for Traffic and Street Department; and
WHEREAS, Case Power and Equipment of Lubbock, Texas has
submitted the best bid for the backhoe-loader in the amount of
$33,821, and the City has allocated $35,000 of Sewer Maintenance
Department Funds for said purchase; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the
one (1) 1/2 ton long wheel base pickup; two (2) 3/4 ton 4 wheel
drive pickups; three (3) 3/4 ton cab and chassis be awarded to
Gardner Chevrolet of Plainview, Texas; and that one (1) 1 ton cab
and chassis; one (1) 2 1/2 ton cab and chassis and one (1) six
ton tilt cab and chassis be awarded to Jack Morris Ford; that 2
motor graders be awarded to Yellowhouse Machinery of Lubbock,
Texas, and that one (1) one backhoe-loader be awarded to Case
Power and Equipment Company of Lubbock, Texas.
