R89-145 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, ORDERING THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CITY ELECTION HELD ON MAY 6, 1989. The State of Texas County of Hale City of Plainview WHEREAS, on the 9th day of May, 1989, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, convened at the regular meeting place thereof with the following members present to wit: and the following were absent: WHEREAS, constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were the following: WHEREAS, Councilmember Bobby James introduced a Resolution and ordered and moved it adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Ross Owen , and the motion carrying with the adoption of the Resolution and order prevailed by the following vote, ayes- 6 noes: 0 The Resolution is as follows: WHEREAS, there came to be considered the returns of an election held on the 6th day of May, 1989,f or the purpose of electing the hereinafter named official, and it appearing from said returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said election 147 valid and legal votes: that each of the candidates in said election received the following votes: 1 of 2 For Councilmember Precinct 2 Lee Roy Lightfoot 36 Gina Billington 13 John E. Kirchhoff 98 Write-In 0 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas~ that said election was duly called; that notice of said election was given in accordance with law, and that said election was held in accordance with law, and that: SECTION 1: John E. Kirchhoff was duly elected Councilmember for Precinct 2 on the City council of the City of Plainview, and that John E. Kirchhoff is hereby declared elected to said oifice of Councilmember for Precinct 2 on the City Council of the City of Plainview, subject to the taking of the Oath of Office as provided by the laws of the State of Texas. Passed and Approved this 9th day of May, 1989. E.V.
