HomeMy WebLinkAboutR89-198A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, ACCEPTING AND
APPROVING A REVISED COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN FOR THE CITY,
TO PROVIDE GENERAL DIRECTION TO CITY OFFICIALS AND STAFF
REGARDING GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW.
WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized a need to review and
update the City's existing Comprehensive Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has commissioned a study to be
undertaken of the city relative to demographic trends, housing
conditions, land use patterns, thoroughfare conditions and needs
and infrastructural conditions, said study to be conducted under
the general direction of the Planning and Zoning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the study has been completed and a report has been
submitted to and recommended by the Planning and Zoning
Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas, that the City Council hereby accepts and
approves the revised Comprehensive Master Plan. Said
Comprehensive Master Plan is attached to this resolution and made
a part hereof. The City Council accepts said plans as general
guides for growth and development of the City of Plainview,
recognizing that such plans may be amended and revised as
conditions change in and around the community and as the City
Council determines such changes to the Comprehensive Master Plan
to be in the best interests of the City of Plainview. The City
Council also recognizes that budgetary constraints may impact the
implementation of the goals and objectives set forth in the
Comprehensive Master Plan and reserves the right to amend the
Comprehensive Master Plan toward the accomplishment of
Comprehensive Master Plan goals in a fiscally responsible manner.
