ORDINANCE NO. 01-3294
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 00-3267 TO
TRANSFER FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL SHARED SEIZURE
INCOME FUND TO ACCOUNT# 40 OF THE GENERAL FUND.
SAID FUNDS TO BE APPLIED TO A MATCHING GRANT WITH
U.S. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT FOR PURCHASE OF POLICE
EQUIPMENT; CUMULATIVENESS CLAUSE; CONFLICTS
CLAUSE; SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2000, through the adoption of Ordinance
No. 00-3267, The City Council of the City of Plainview approved the 2000-2001
budget; and
WHEREAS, the budget is a general guideline for revenue and
expenditures and may require periodic amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined a need for the City to
transfer budget funds for a joint matching grant with the United State Justice
Department and the City of Plainview. To use this Grant to purchase equipment
to help reduce or to prevent crime within the City of Plainview. The amount of the
match being U.S. Justice Department 90% and the City of Plainview being 10%.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview that the 2000-2001 budget is amended aS follows:
Transfer of $3,590 from the Federal Shared Seizure Income account # 28 to:

City Council hereby authorizes expenditure of $35,898 from AccoUnt 40-07-6803
for items approved under Federal Grant guidelines. Said items consisting of
equipment for the Police Department, as approved by City Council.
