RESOLUTION No. R12 -264
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS, CREATING A COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION PLAN FOR
HOUSING FOR CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Plainview desires to develop a viable urban
community, including decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding
economic opportunities, principally for persons of low -to- moderate income; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide an incentive for community transformation and
help create long -term investment in the community, the City of Plainview wishes to
evidence its intent to encourage and facilitate quality development for the benefit of the
City as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the City proposes a Community Revitalization Plan for Housing to
encourage the development of affordable rental housing in the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW THAT:
The City Council of the City of Plainview hereby approves the Community
Revitalization Plan Map for Housing as designated in Exhibit "A ", attached and
incorporated hereto.

The objective of the Community Revitalization Plan is to encourage the
construction of new as well as the rehabilitation of quality affordable rental housing in
these designated areas of the community.
The departments of the City of Plainview are hereby instructed to provide
assistance to worthy projects within the plan which require municipal support in order to
qualify for non - municipal financing and other economic incentives to develop within the
Community Revitalization area.
IV.
This Resolution's primary purpose is to provide an incentive for economic
opportunities to encourage and facilitate quality development of housing for the City's
benefit as a whole.
