Other members present were Pat Stoner, Carolyn Warrick, Rebecca ..Escalante and Lynn Davis. Staff present: Jim Sewell~ Building Inspector. Visitors present were Dwain Dodson, Floyd Morris, Marilyn Morris and Billy Key. B.A. CASE NO. 1049 Request of Billy Key for a variance to construct additional living area to a single family residence within the required rear yard in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District, being the North 51 feet of Lot 8, and the South 14 ft. of Lot 9, Block 1, Springer Subdivision and located at 904 Amarillo. The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell, he stated Mr. Key was requesting to build 15' x 50' addition on his residents that would be within 16 ft., 6" of his rear property line. With the use of an overhead projector, Mr. Sewell indicated the property and how the proposed addition would appear on the lot. After questioning Mr. Key, Ms ' Stoner made a motion to grant Mr. Key a variance to construct a 15 ft. x 50 ft. addition to hiS residence in the required rear yard within 16 ft., 6 inches of the rear property line. Motion was seconded by Ms. Warrick and passed unanimously. B.A. CASE NO 1050 Request of Dwain Dodson for a variance to construct a residential storage building wLthin the required side and rear yard in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District., being Lots 19 and 20, Block 1, Lemons Subdivision and located at 1108 Zephyr. The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell and he stated Mr. Dodson was requesting to build a 10 ft. x 20 ft. storage building in the required rear yard within 2 ft. 6" of the rear property line and 2 ft. 6" of the side property line. With the use of an overhead projector, Mr. Sewell indicated the property location and how the building was proposed to be located on the property. After a short questioning period with Mr. Dodson, Ms. Warrick made a motion to grant Mr. Dodson's request with the stipulation that the roof overhang be no closer than 1 ft. from the side and rear property line. Motion was seconded by Ms. Stoner and carried unanimously. B.A. CASE NO. 1052 Request of Floyd Morris for a variance to construct an open carport in the required front and side yard in a R-2 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District being Lot 10, Block 2, Boswell Subdivision and located at 301 S.E. 6th Street. The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell and he stated the carport would be 12 ft. x 16 ft., constructed of metal and be within 3 ft. of the side property line and 7 ft. of the front property line. With the use of an overhead projector, Mr. Sewell indicated the lot location and where the carport would be located. After a brief discussion with Mr. Morris, Mr. Davis made a motion to grant the variance as requested. Motion was seconded by Ms. Stoner and carried unanimously. B.A. CASE NO. 1051 Request of Mark Stephen Has~ey for a variance to construct an open carport within the required front and side yard in a MF-2 (Multi-Family Residential) Zoning District, being Lot 2, Block 65, College Hill Addition and located at 509 Vernon Street. Being that Mr. Hastey did not appear before the Board, Ms. Warrick made a motion, seconded by Ms. Stoner, to table this case until the next scheduled meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
