AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL QF THE'CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AMENDING THE 1988-89 BUDGET OF
THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW; APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL
FUNDS FROM THE"HOTELJMOTEL TAX RESERVE. FUND.
Whereas, the City Council, through the .adoption of the
1988-89 Budget established revenues and expenditures for said
fiscal year; and
Whereas, the Budget is a guideline and requires. periodic
amendment in order to handle unforeseen expenditures; and
Whereas, the need for the City of Plainview to continue to
operate in-an efficient manner and_pay its bills necessitates the
periodic amendment of the Budget; and
`~ Whereas, the Plainview Chamber of Commerce has made a request
for the expenditure of the' City of Plainview HotelJMotel Tax
Reserve Funds in accordance with City policies; and
Whereas, the.Chamber has requested to expend a total of
$4,91Q.OR, with $2;800'.00 being utilized for advertising with a
1/3 page ad in the May issue of Texas Monthly; $1,760.00 two
outdoor advertising signs for three months rental of June, July
and-August, 19$9; and the .printing of 600. 11x14 posters that
would be distributed to local businesses for display in windows
for $350.00; and
Whereas, said Advertising Budget is designed to promote the
soon to be completed Mammoth Exhibit at the Llano Estacado Museum
in early Apri-1.
Now, Therefore, Be It Ordained by the.. City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas, the 1988-89 Budget of the City is hereby
amended in the fallowing manner:
