A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, RECOGNIZING A NEED FOR
THE SERVICES OFFERED BY TOMMY LEWIS
INDUSTRIES TO PROVIDE FOR THE CLEAN-UP OF THE
SANITARY LANDFILL WITHIN THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas
recognizes the continual need to clean-up the sanitary landfill
operated by the City of Plainview, and
WHEREAS, the efficiency of the Public Works Department would
be enhanced by an outside contract for providing clean-up
services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised of the services
offered by handicapped citizens of TeXas, organized under the
Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center as Tommy Lewis
Industries; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to express its commitment
to the blind and handicapped citizens of Texas and Plainview by
procuring their services wherever possible; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the mutual benefit of
the services offered by Tommy Lewis Industries to the City of
Plainview and its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas that the Mayor is authorized to enter
into an agreement with Tommy Lewis Industries without the
necessity of competitive bidding for the clean-up of our City's
sanitary landfill.
