RESOLUTION NO. R13 -298
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS ADOPTING LOCAL ELECTION REGISTER FOR
THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2013
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Plainview, Texas, on November 5, 2013, a
Special Election for the position of Councilmember District 5; and
WHEREAS, there were cast at said election 145 votes as shown on the official election
results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas,
and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election and
said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of Texas;
and
WHEREAS, the results of said election were duly canvassed by the City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas, on November 18, 2013; and showed the following results:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, THAT:
No candidate received the majority of votes cast for Councilmember District 5. Becky
Summers received the highest number of votes and Susan Zeigler Blackerby received
the second highest number of votes.

The above canvass is, and the same is hereby in all things approved.
Passed and approved this 18 day of November, 2013.
