The meeting was called to order by chairperson, Lynn Davis.
Other board members present were: Leroy Lightfoot, Eddie
Sessions, Randy Ballinger Mary Ann Escamila, Don Willis and Betty
Gonzales.
Staff present were': Larry Gould, Building Inspections
Department; Jim Lindstrom, Code Enforcement Department; Roy
Reese, Code Enforcement; a~d Janice Anderson, Secretary,
Community Services.
B. A. CASE NO. 1162: Request of La Moin Howerton for a
variance of four (4) feet of the eight (8) foot side set
back required in Section 32 to be used as a RV storage
building, being 69 feet of Lot 15 and the south seventeen
feet of Lot 16, Block 17, Brock, Unit No. 7 and generally
located at 1108 Itasca.
Roy Reese presented the case to the board. Fred Bechtold
explained the structure to the board. There were no replies on
this case.
After a short discussion, Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by
Randy Ballinger to approve the variance as requested. Motion
carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1162: Request of Ken Chapman on behalf of
Heath Furniture Company, No. 6 for the following variances:
A. Variance of three (3) spaces of twenty (20) feet
required parking space depth in Section 31:2.
Variance of thirteen (13) feet of twenty-four (24)
parking spaces required in Section 31:5.2(14).

Variance to Section 31:5.4(5) allowing entering and
existing by backing onto a public street for addition
of showroom and warehouses, being Lots 13 and 14, Block
22, Original Town Addition and generally located at
210-212 Broadway.
Larry Gould presented the case to the board. No replies were
received on this case. Leroy Lightfoot had questions concerning
the drainage of the new structure as the existing structure
causes the alley to wash out when it rains. Ken Chapman stated
he had spoke with the company on this problem. He feels it will
be taken care of.

Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by Don Willis to approve the
request with the stipulation that proper drainage be provided.
Motion carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1163:

Request of Donald Lee Terrell for the

North and south side set back for fifteen (15) feet of
the twenty-five (25) feet required in Section 32, Note
E.
Side and/or rear west set back for forty-five (45) of
fifty (50) feet required in Section 32, Note E.

twenty (20) feet required in Section 34:4(4) and four
(4) feet of twenty (20) feet parking depth required in
Section 31:2.

North side entry to a garage for two (2) feet of twenty
(20) feet required in Section 34:4(4) and two (2) feet
of the twenty (20) feet parking depth required in
Section 31:2, and;
An easement shall be required for the driveway access
from the north side garage to the public street
(Garland Street) as per Section 31:3.
For placement of a multi-family dwelling being Lots 1 and 2
and the south eight (8) foot of Lot 3, Westgate, Unit No. 1
and generally located at 2501-2503 Garland and 3402 W. 25th.

After a short discussion Eddie Sessions moved, seconded by Betty
Gonzales to approve the request as stated. Motion carried
unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1164: Request of Wayne Houlette for a
variance of ten (10) feet of the thirty (30) feet side
setback required by plat, being Lot 37, Westridge Park
Addition and generally located at 303 Kirchwood Drive.

After a discussion of the case, Randy Ballinger moved, seconded
by Betty Gonzales to approve the request as stated. Motion
carried unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1165: Request of Lawson Kemp for the
following variances for placement of a garage and storage
building:
Five (5) feet of eight (8) feet side set back required
in Section 31, and;

Section 34:5.5, entry into a garage from the alley,
being Lot 14, Block 5, Country ClUb Addition and
generally located at 107 Aileen.

B. A. CASE NO. 1166: Request of Douglas Kopp for a variance
of fourteen (14) feet of the twenty-five (25) feet rear set
back required in Section 32 for placement of a covered patio
and deck being Lot 73, Westridge Park, Unit No. 3, and
generally located at 402 Navasota.

Ann Escamila to approve the request as stated. Motion carried
unanimously.
B. A. CASE NO. 1167: Request of Roy Parr for the following
variances for the placement of a carport.
Twenty-five (25) feet of the required twenty-five (25)
feet front setback in Section 32.
Five (5) feet of the required five (5) feet side yard
setback in Section 34.1.

Section 3:31 by one (1) foot.
In a R-1 (Single-Family Residential District) Zoning
District, being Lot 18, Block 17, Thunderbird, Unit No. 4,
