Council Chambers, City Hall, 901 Broadway The meeting was called to order by chairperson, Lynn Davis. Other board members present were: Jannie Benson, Leroy Lightfoot, Paul Lyle, Mary Ann Escamilla and Randy Ballinger. Staff present were: Larry Gould, Building Inspections/Code Enforcement Department; Jim Lindstrom, Building Inspections/Code Enforcement Department; and Janice Anderson, Secretary, Community Services. B. A. CASE NO. 1152: Request of Walter C. Frye for a variance of twenty-three and one-half (23½) feet of the thirty (30) feet front Setback in Section 32 for placement of a carport, being Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, RaY Addition and generally located at 413 Canyon. Fred Bechtold represented Mr. Frye and explained that the carport was already in place as the specially equipped van (wheel chair lift equipped) would not fit in the garage and the inclement weather. There were no replies on this case. After a short discussion, Randy Ballinger moved, seconded by Leroy Lightfoot to grant this request as stated. Motion carried unanimously. B. A. CASE NO. 1153: Request of Donald Loafman for variances of three (3) feet of the eight (8) feet required side setback in Section 32 and fifteen (15) feet of the twenty feet required rear setback in Section 34:5(5) for placement of a garage and storage building and being the North 74.67' of Lot 1, Block 25, Brock Addition, Unit 10 and generally located at 1509 Jefferson. Mr. Loafman explained that he had several cars he would like to have off the street and has a motorcycle to store when not in use. The garage would be entered from the alley. After a short discussion Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by Jannie Benson to grant the request as stated. CASE NO. 1154: Request of David Wilder for variances of one (1) foot of the five (5) feet rear setback required in Section 34:1(lb) and four (4) feet of the eight (8) feet side setback required in Section 32 for placement of a storage building and being Lot 2, Southwest quarter, Section 33, Block JK-2, Slaughter Addition and generally located at 103 Yonkers. The board ask a few questions of Mr. Wilder. Larry Gould, Building Inspector, explained that Mr. Wilder would have to make an additional request for the garage door he had decided to place on the storage building after the deadline for advertising of this case. Randy Ballinger moved, seconded by Paul Lyle to approve the request as stated. Motion carried unanimously. B. A. CASE NO. 1155: Request of Franklin Green for a variance of nineteen and one-half (19½) feet of the twenty-five (25) feet front setback required in Section 32 for placement of a carport and being Lot 6, Block 2, Thunderbird Addition and generally located at 1300 W. 25th. Fred Bechtold represented Mr. Green and explained the construction to the board. After a short discussion, Leroy Lightfoot moved, seconded by Randy Ballinger to grant this request as stated.
