HomeMy WebLinkAbout07.25.1988 BA MinutesBOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING MONDAY, JULY 25, 1988 CITY HALL 7:30 P.M. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Jack Burton. Other Board Members present were Pat Stoner, Carolyn Warrick, Lynn Davis and Fernando Lopez. Staff present: Jim Sewell, Building Inspector. visitorS present.: Louis Bechtold and Franklin Ebeling. B.A..CASE NO. 1056: Request of Louis Bechtold for a variance to construct an open carport within the required side and front yard in a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District, being Lot 11, Block 1, Phenix Subdivision and located at 808 Amarillo Street. The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell. Using overhead projection, Mr. Sewell indicated the location of the lot and addition. Mr. Bechtold stated he was requesting the variance to construct 20' x 20' metal frame roof open carport within 2' of his north property line and-18' from his front property line. After a short question and answer period, Ms. Stoner made a motion to grant a variance for Mr. Bechtold to construct an open carport within 2' of the nOrth property line and 18' of the front property line. Motion was seconded by Ms. WarriCk and carried unanimously. B.A. CASE }iO. 10:57 Request of Franklin Ebeling for a variance to construct an open carport within the .required rear yard in a CRD (Commercial Retail) Zoning District, being Lots 5 and 6, Block 65, College Hill Addition and located at 2308 West 5th Street. The case was presented to the Board by Mr. Sewell. Using overhead projection, Mr. Sewell indicated the location of the lot and the construction site. Mr. Ebeling stated he wanted to construct a 20' x 80' open metal _carport that would' be within 1' 4" from the rear property line on the N.E. corner. He stated that the .north side would be provided with a r.ain gutter 'and down spouts. After a short question and answer period, Ms. Warrick made a motion to grant the variance as requested. Motion was secondedby Ms. Stoner and carried unanimously. Having no further business for the Board, Ms. Warrick made a motion, seconded by Ms. Stoner to adjourn. Motion carried unanimous ly.
