ORDINANCE NO. 89-2814
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 24-47 ENTITLED
REFUSE COLLECTION FEES; WATER TERT~lINATION OF THE
CODE OF ORDINANCES ~F THE GITY`OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the State. of Texas has imposed a surcharge of fifty
cents ($.SO) per ton an all refuse disposed of in the City of
Plainview Landfill; and
WHEREAS, these new costs mandated by the State have
necessitated an increase in rates in Sanitation Fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
if Plainview, Texas, that Section 24-47 entitled "Refuse
Collection Fees; Water Termination" of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Plainview, Texas, is amended in its entirety and from
.henceforth shall read as follows:
Section 24-47. Refuse collection fees; water termination.
a} Class I: The .collection and removal of refuse from houses,
~. buildings and premises used for residential purposes shall be
classified as Class I.
Residential houses are hereby classified as follows:
Monthly charge
Class 1-A ----- One family residences $ g,20
Class 1-B ----- Two family residence with one (1)
water meter. $1b.40
Class 1-C ----- Two family residence on separate
water meters, each unit. $ g.20
Class 1-D ----- One family residence .and single
apartment on one (1) water meter,
each unit. $ 8.20
Class. 1-E ----- Apartment house or trailer park
with. three (3) or more family
units, with one (1) mandatory
three yard container. $32.80
Class 1-F ----- For each additional container
~- determined to beneeded by the
Sanitation Superintendent.

Class 1-G ----- Any Glass I customer who desires
Class II service may be provided
such subject to the approval of
the .Sanitation Superintendent..
(b) Class II. The collection and removal of refuse from houses,
buildings and premises, used for commercial and.business purposes
shall be classified as Class II. Refuse collection rates shall be
as follows:

(c) Charges due monthly. These charges shall be made monthly,
an the charges and fees far the collection and disposal of refuse
be added to and be placed upon the water bill or otherwise billed
to each account. If the refuse fee is nat paid within twenty (20)
days after it becomes due, then the City shall refuse to furnish
any water to the residence, apartments, dormitory ar es ablshment
for which such refusecallection fee has not been paid.
(d) Commercial rates outside City. Commercial establishments
outside the city limits within a five (5) mile radius may be
provided refuse collection service by the city and will be subject
to the following monthly rates:

first billing in January, 1990.
