Plainview Main Street / CVB Board Meeting Minutes
June 3, 2009
Present: Vernah Ramsower, Anthony Brocato, Nicki Logan, Mark Stoub, Debbie Martin,
Beverly Wall, GK Reddy, Dee Blevins and Cindy Wieland
Staff Present: Eric Turner and Sarah Castillo
Chairman Cindy Weiland called meeting to order at 4:05
Approval of previous meeting minutes
Motion made by Beverly to approve the minutes second by Nicki
Eric presented the application for the HOT grant which the Rodeo Association was
applying for. Eric went over the policy of the Grant and mention that the previous
application the Rodeo submitted did not follow through with the proper procedures and
that he had met with the current Rodeo president to discuss the issues and made sure they
understood how the grant worked.
Gk Reddy expressed his thoughts on some of the requirements stating that he felt the area
of putting visitors in local Hotel/Motels was not being done as it should with the grant
Eric went into further detail of the grant and explained that he would like to see other
groups apply and that the grant should not be depended on by those who apply over and
over.
Nicki expressed that she would like to see the CVB committee meet at a different time to
discuss the HOT grant and then someone from the committee then would attend the Main
Street board meeting and update on what the CVB committee was doing.
Eric updated the board on how the Rotary visit went. Also gave the date on the next CRC
application workshop for those who would like to attend. June 9, 2009 at 1:OOpm in the
meeting room downstairs at City Hall.
Volunteers were asked to help with the parade judging for the Rodeo parade. Anthony,
Mark and Dee agreed to help with the judging.
