ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 11, 2015

SPONSOR PRESENT:
*The meeting was called to order by Vice -President Joe Provence. Mary Lou Haygood
gave the invocation. Minutes of the July 14, 2015 meeting were approved.
*New council member Sally Philips was introduced.
*Mary Lou Haygood and Helen Liphan were recognized as recent volunteers of the
month.
*Irma gave the financial report for June.
*Irma reported that the Progress Report and an augmentation of $3000.00 in federal
funds have been filed. The new 2 -year State Grant and Federal Financial Report have
been submitted.
*Irma reported that the golf tournament made $1323.11 with $750.00 in pending
sponsorships.
*The garage sale made $72325.Two bicycles have been donated which will be raffled
off at Breakfast with Santa in December.
*The flea market in Lockney will be August 15 & 16.
*RSVP and 4-H cleaned up the Hike and Bike Trail on July 25th.
*Six dads have been recorded at the prisons for "My Dad Reads to Me".
*Irma gave an update on the community gardens.
*Birthday Recognition for June, July and August will be at the senior citizens center on
August 20th.
*RSVP plans to honor veterans in nursing homes, assisted living and retirement homes
for Patriot's Day (September 11).
*Plans for the RSVP banquet to be held in October were discussed.
*Barbara reported that 344 volunteers served 5551 hours in June with 5 new volunteers.
* The next meeting will be September 8, 2015.
