UNGER MEMORIAL LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD meeting was attended by Treva
James and Albert Torres, Board members; Mary Virginia Kirchhoff, City
Council liason; Ruth Gooch, Friends of UML president and John Sigwald,
librarian.
Due to lack of a quorum, meeting was held informally. John suggested
that December meetings for the Board might be not scheduled in the
future. John told those present that the City Council has agreed to accept
bids for an elevator for UML and that is progressing.
John is reading at Houston School again and told everyone that he enjoys
this and feels it really can encourage the students to read.
The outside of the library is being painted by an independent
contractor.
John reported that we have again had windows broken out. It was
discussed that possibly sometime in the future we might check into
getting different glass (non -breakable) for the windows.
John reported that computer usage is up, in turn, library usage
is up.
Meeting was adjourned.
