UNGER MEMORIAL LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The regular meeting of the Unger Memorial Library Advisory Committee was
called to order by Mrs. Ruby Curry, Vice-president, at 7:20 P. M., Monday,
August 2, 1976, in the Library Conference Room. Present were Susan LaFont,
Malcolm Tisdel, David Willson, Lloyd Woods and Judy Smith -Librarian.
The minutes of the meeting of June 7, 1976, were approved as presented.
The Librarian's reports for June and July were presented.
Mr. Tisdel inquired about the status of the booth at the Running Water
Draw Arts and Crafts Festival. Miss Smith informed him that the deposit had
been made by Mrs. Igo.
The Committee again considered the list of building maintenance needs.
The most pressing needs were judged to be the obtaining of a new door or new
door handle for the 9th Street entrance, repair of the leak in the west basement
wall and repair of the leak from the plate glass windows on 9th Street.
The Committee considered the proposed revised hours of service as presented
by the Librarian. The proposed schedule is as follows:
Monday 12 Noon - 9 P. M.
Tuesday 12 Noon - 9 P. M.
Wednesday 9 A.M. - 6 P. M.
Thursday 12 Noon - 9 P. M.
Friday 9 A.M. - 6 P. M.
Saturday 9 A.M. - 6 P. M.
It was moved by Mr. Tisdel, seconded by Mrs. LaFont, that the revised schedule
be adopted as presented and become effective September 7, 1976. Motion carried.
The Committee considered the proposed budget request to Hale County. There is
to be no requested increase in the regular contribution of $9.000. There will be
a small increase in the amount requested for the Summer Outreach Program. The
present allocation for the Summer Outreach Program is $1,779.00; the request will
be for $1,845.00. The increase will provide for the rental of additional films.
Miss Smith will prepare a letter and other pertinent information for presentation
to the County Commissioners. She will make an appointment to appear before the
Commissioners on either August 0th or 23r. Mrs. LaFont will appear with either
Mrs. Igo or Mrs. Currys Q-71-06 � 4/.
The Committee then elected officers to serve for the next two years. Mrs.
Igo was elected President and Mrs. Curry was elected Vice-president.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
