AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 89-2798 entitled
"The City of Plainview Zoning Ordinance"; more specifically
amending Section 8:1 "Schedule of Uses Established", Subpart:
"Manufacturing, Storage and Warehousing Uses"; amending Section
9:6:8 providing for a definition of self-storage,
mini-warehouses; and establishing an effective date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Plainview:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 89-2798 and the Official Zoning
Map be and the same are hereby amended as follows, to wit:
Section 8:1 entitled "Manufacturing, Storage and Warehousing
Uses" is amended to include self storage, mini-warehouse in the
CB (Central Business District) as a permitted use by a Specific
Use Permit.
From the date of this Ordinance, said use shall be amended in
accordance herewith.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No.
hereby amended to read as follows:
89-2798,
Section 9:6:8 is
Self-storage, mini-warehouse: A facility used for storage
of goods and/or materials with~separate access to individual
storage units by persons renting the units, but excluding
storage of hazardous or flammable materials.
SECTION 3. A notice that a public hearing shall be held in
the Council Chambers in the City Hall in Plainview, Texas, at
7:30 P.M. on the 8th day of January, 1991, to permit the public
to be heard prior to consideration of this Ordinance was
published in the Plainview Daily Herald, a daily newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Plainview, Texas, said
publication being more than fifteen (15) days prior to the time
designed for said hearing.
SECTION 4. Should any section, sub-section or any portion
hereof be deemed invalid for any reason, such holding shall not
render or invalidate any other section, sub-section, sentence,
provision, clause, phrase or word severable therefrom.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective after its
publication as required by law.
