David Julian made motion to approve the minutes as read. Bobby Brunson seconded the motion. Motion carried 4 -0. Second Item on the Agenda: Review and take action on 2003 International Property Maintenance Code. Greg Zielinski told the Board that approximately every three years a new code comes out and the City of Plainview tries to adopt it to stay as current as possible. In the year 2000, three code bodies merged and formed the International Code Series. The reason we are adopting the International Codes is because the Uniform Building Code that we are currently using is no longer being produced. The International Property Maintenance Code would replace the currently used Uniform Housing Code and the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings. It sets minimums for existing buildings. Greg discussed changes required in the Code before it could be submitted to the City Council for adoption — most of the changes being administrative ones. David Julian made motion to submit the new code with changes to the City Council for consideration of adoption. Bobby Brunson seconded. Motion carried 4 -0. Third Item on the Agenda: Review and take action on 2003 International Energy Efficiency Code. Correct wording on the code is the 2003 International Energy Conservation Code. Greg Zielinski told the Board that this code needed a few changes, mostly administrative ones before being submitted to the City Council. State law requires adoption of this code. David Julian made motion to submit the new code with changes, including correcting the title to International Energy Ef=fierieRey Conservation Code to the City Council for consideration of adoption. Bobby Brunson seconded. Motion carried 4 -0. • Fourth Item on the Agenda: Review and take action on 2003 International Residential Code. This code would replace parts of the currently used Uniform Building Code. Greg Zielinski told the Board there would need to be some changes made, mostly administrative ones, before submitting this code to the City Council. Lynn Davis made motion to submit the new code with needed changes to the City Council for consideration of adoption. Bobby Brunson seconded. Motion carried 4 -0.
