January 21, 2016
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Roberts, Henry Trevino, Ricky Mason, Junior Rodriguez, Jeremy
Searsy. Members Not Present: Manuel Gonzales and Ralph Langley.
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Hunter — City Inspector, Robert Zapata — City Inspector and Judy
Rasher- Secretary.
GUESTS PRESENT: City Council Member, Susan Blackerby.
FIRST ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Oath of Office — Ron Roberts, Ricky Mason, Junior Rodriguez and Jeremy
Searsy. Henry Trevino was inadvertently sworn in.
SECOND ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Approval of February 7, 2011 Minutes. Motion to approve minutes as
presented was made by Ricky Mason, and seconded by Ron Roberts. Motion carried unanimously.
THIRD ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Discussion regarding adopting the 2015 Edition of the 2015 International
Code (No action to be taken).
Larry Hunter presented to the board an overview of adopting the 2015 Edition of the 2015 International
Code and the 2014 NEC Code. Larry advised the board members of the next two meetings which will be
held on February 25, 2016 and March 3 2016. The board members agreed to keep the meetings at
7:00 pm.
The board members request that the City provide copies of the changes prior to the next meeting. Larry
agreed and said that he would put together a packet for each board member prior to the next meeting.
Larry informed the board that the City is looking at adopting changes similar to that of Amarillo, Lubbock
and the surrounding areas.
The board members raised questions regarding the energy codes for new construction and remodels.
Larry informed the board members information will be provided to them and will be discussed at the
next two meetings.
FOURTH ITEM ON THE AGENDA: Adjournment. Meeting adjourned at 7:33 pm.
