Personal Protective Gear Replacement
ORDINANCE NO. 01-3286
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 00-3267 TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS IN THE SAFETY
EQUIPMENT FUND IN THE 2000-2001 BUDGET TO REPLACE ALL
BUNKER OR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE GEAR.
WHEREAS, on September 12, 2000 through the adoption of Ordinance No. 00-3267 the
Plainview City Council approved the 2000-2001 Budget; and
WHEREAS, the Budget is a general guideline for revenue and expenditures and may
require periodic amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined a need for the City to budget funds to
replace all bunker gear or personal protective gear; and
WHEREAS, said replacements are necessary to bring the fire department into
compliance with the current regulations of the Texas Commission on Fire Protection
regarding Protective Clothing; and
WHEREAS, all protective clothing, which are used by fire protection personnel,
assigned to fire suppression duties comply with the minimum standards of the National
Fire Protection Association;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW HEREBY ORDAINS that the 2000-
2001 Budget be amended to appropriate $22,000.00 dollars to the Fire Department
Fund as follows:

Section I1:
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter or
diminish the applicability or enforcement of other ordinances restricting, regulating or
governing the subject matter herein.

Section II1:
If any section, sentence, clause phrase, or portion of this ordinance is, for any reason,
held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall
be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision and such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining provisions thereof.
Section IV:
All ordinances or portion of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas, in conflict
herewith are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
Section V:
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage
