HomeMy WebLinkAbout428 ResolutionResolution No. 428 Alderman, Kiker introduced and mowed the adoption of the following resolution: WMEWREAS, the City of Plainview, Texas, has determined to file an application with the Federal Emergency Administration of P~,~blic ~orks for and grant to build and equip a Oity Hall. Fire Station and LibraryB~ldino~~' ~- and 0,, R. Walker is a qualified and suitable architect and co~mpetent to do the architectur~l ~or~ in connection with sai~ project: NOW, THEE~0RE. BE IT RESOZVED that the said O. R. Walker be and he is hereby authorized and direbted by the City Council to prepare preliminary sketches, plans ~nd specifications necess. cry to a¢¢ompm,ny said application, and if said application is grouted that he will be designated cud appointed as the archi- tect to handle said work; but it is understood and agreed that the City of Plainview shall nbt be under any obligation to pay the said O. R. ~lker any sum of money for the said prelimi~ sketches, plans cud specifications unless and until the s~id ap- plication has been granted and allotment made and the 0ity of Plainview~votes-approval of~the bonds, and~when said application is granted and allotment made and bonds have been authorized by a:n election, then the-said 0. R. Walker shall be designated and appointed as the architect and~shall be entitled to a fee of six per cent {6%) on the ¢onstraction cost of said project; said final agreement to be evidended by a contract, Alderman Kiker moved the adoption of the foregoing Resolu- tion~ 'it was se6onded by Alderman Osborne, and upon the same be- ing put to a vote, it was una~imouslT- adopted, There being no further business, meeting~adjourned.
