Einutes of the last regular meeting, al~o. the minutes of the called meeting of August llth, were re~d and adopted. ~~. the City of Pl~inview, Texas. hss detect-ed to file application with the ~ederal ~ergenoy Administration of ~blic Works for a gr~nt to aid in fin~oi~ the cost of paving certain street~ ~d alleys in the 0ity of Pl~nview; ~d W~~. W. E. B~an is a ~alified ~d suitable e~ineer ~d competent to do the engineering work in connection with ~aid pro jeet: NOW,, T~ORE. BE IT ~SOLVED that the said W. E. B~an be ~d he is hereby authorized ~nd directed by the ~Oity Co. tit to prepare prelimin~y sketches, plus ~nd specifications necessary to aceom- p~r said application, ~d if s~id application is granted that he will be designated and appeared as the engineer to handle said work; but it is understood and ~reed that the City of Plainview shall not be ~der a~ obligation to pay the said W. E. B~ ~ny $~ of money for the said prel~in~y sketches, pl~m and specifi- cations unless and ~til the said application has been grated ~d allotment m~de~ and the City of Plainview votes approval of the bonds. ~d when said application ~is grated ~d allotment made ~d bonds been authorized by ~ eleGtion, then the said ~. Bry,~ ~all be designated and appointed ms the engineer and shall be entitled to a fee of six per cent ~(6%) on the construction cost of said pro- jeo~, said final ~greement to be evidenced by a contract, Alderman Hancock moved the adoption of the foregoing res- olution, it was seconded by Aldermau ~ Frogge , and upon the sa~e being put to a v,ote, it was unani~ously adopted. O~ ~RIOA THROUGH THE ~EDERAT~ EIv~RGENCY AD~LII(ISTrRATION PUBLIC WORKS~ ~0R A G ~RAN~ TO-AID IN FI~ANQ!NG THE PAVING OF PUBLIC 8~TREETS AND AZI~YS IN THE dITY PLAINVIEW, TEXAS A2~D DESIGNATING ~YOR TO)6 SHELTON TO FURNISH SUCH INFOPJ~&TION AS THE GOVERNmeNT REQUEST. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Section 1. That Nayor Tom SheIton, be and he is authorized to execute and file an aQplioation on behalf of the C~t~ef Plain- view to the United States of Am~riom for a g~aut to ai~ in £inmno- ing the oos~ of pmving certain streets and alleys in the 0ity of Plainview. Section 2, That W. E. Bryan, is hereby authorized and dir- ected to furnish such information as th~ United States of America through the Federal Emergency Administration of Pmblic Works may reasonably ~equest in connection with the applicatiQn which is herein authorized to be filed. ~ CERTIFICATE OF CLERK I, J,~L.
