The City Council~met in regular meeting v~th the following
members present. ~ayor, John F. DuBose? Aldermen: C.H.'Hancock,
W. C. Malone~and Floyd Peer. City Tax-Collector, P. H. Bryan and
City' Atb0rney, Dan M. Cook, attended the meeting.
R~inutes of the last meeting, read and adopted.
~.~otion by Alderman Malone, seconded by Alderman Poor and Han-
cock, that the 1942-1943 budget for the City be adopted, and the
following ordinance be passed and adopted. The motion carried and
the ordinance' follows:

SECTION 2.
That there be and is hereby !.evied for the year 1941, an occu-
pation tax equal to one-half (½) that levied by The State of Texas upon
all persons, firms and corporations following taxable occupations in the
City of Plainview, Texas.
SECTION 3.
That the taxes shall be assessed by the Assessor and Collector
by the Tax Collector of the City of Plainview, Texas, as required hy
Ordinance No. 373, Volume No. 6, Page 287, of the minutes of the City
of Plainview~ Texas, and under the laws of The State of Texas.
$~otion by Aiderma~u Hancock, seconded by Alderman ~alone, that
the following resolution be passed and adopted. The motion was carried
and it was so ordered.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August, 1942.

that the salary of P. H. B~yan be raised $15.00 per month. Motion
carried and it. was so ordered.
