AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 77-2090 AND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF
THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW SO AS TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES AND CREATING AN EMERGENCY
ZONE CASE NO. 394:1.856 acres out of SW/4 JK2-33:
BEGINNING at pt. 60'S..and 640' W of the SE corner Btk. 79, College Hil~ Addn, Plainview,
Hale Co., TX; same being 60' W of NW corner Blk 1:, Bell Subd.; THENCE N.89v58'30"W. along
S line W 4th St,, 254.7' to NE corner of 80' x 140' tract; THENCE S.O°OI'30"E., 14.0' to a
Pt6; THENCE S.89°58'30"W., 80' to a pt.; THENCE S.OOOI'30"E., 135' to a pt.; THENCE N.
89 58'30"E., 334.58' to a. stake i~ W line of Amarillo St., THENCE N, 275' to PLACE OF
BEGINNING,
CITY OF PLAINVIEW, HALE COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM R-1 TO A TH ZONING DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the proposed change in Zoning Districts as hereinafter made has been duly
presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation which was
received by the City Council, and after due consideration, the City Council of the
City of Plainview finds that for the orderly growth of the City making the proposed
change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest which creates an emer-
gency; and,
WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amendment to the Zo-
ni_ng Ordinance and Map, have been fully complied with, as well as giving notices
provided by Article lOllF Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes-Amended, 1953, and
notice was duly published in the Plainview Herald more than fifteen (15) days prior
to the date of the Public Hearing before the City Council of such proposed amend-
ment, and the Public Hearing according to said notice was duly held in the City
Council Room of the City Hall, Plainview, Texas, at which time persons appeared in
support o.~ the proposal; and after said hearing, i:t was by the Cii~y Council deter=
mined tha~ it would by in the public ~nterest due to changed conditions, that the
Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in the manner hereinafter set forth
in the bod,~ of this Ordinance; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW;
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 77-2090 and the Official Zoning Map be and the same
are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
ZONE CASE NO. 394:1.856 acres out of SW/4 JK2-33:
BEGINNING at pt. 60' S and 640' W of the SE corner Blk 79, College Hill Addn. to
Change Plainview, Hale Co., TX, same being 60' W of the'NW corner of Bike,Bell Subd.;
THENCE N.89°58'30"W., along S line of W 4th St., 254.7' to the NE corner of 80'x 140'
tract;
THENCE S.O°OI'30"E., 140' to a pt.~
THENCE S.89°58'30"W., 80' to a pt.;
THENCE S.O°~I'30"E., 135' to a pt.;
THENCE N.89~58'30"E., 334.58' to stake in W line of Amarillo St.;

City of Plain~iew, Hale County, Texas, from an R-1 to a TH Zoning District.
From the date of this Ordinance, said lot, tract, and parcel ~ land described shall
be and hereby be changed to the Zoning District indicated and the Official Map is
amended in accordance herewith.
WHEREAS, a~ emergency exists as shown in the preamble to this Ordinance, the enact-
ment of this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure creating a public
necessity ~hat the rule requiring proposed Ordinance to be presented at two (2)
separate Council Meetings be dispensed with; and this Ordinance shall be effective
from the date of its passage.
