AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION THREE (3), ORDINANCE NO.
71-1154 OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW CHANGING THE LIMITED
PARKING TIME FROM FORTY-FIVE (45) MINUTES TO TWO (2)
HOURS ON BROADWAY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET IN THE
700 BLOCK FROM 7TH STREET TO 8TH STREET.
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of
the City of Plainview that it would be in the best interest
of the citizens of the City of Plainview that the designated
limited parking time in the 700th Block of Broadway should
be increased from Forty-five (45) minutes to Two (2) hours;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW:
Section I: Section 3, PARKING TIME LIMITED ON CERTAIN
STREET, Ordinance No. 71-1154 of the City of Plainview,
Texas is hereby amended so as to hereinafter read and be as
follows:
When signs are erected or other notice provided for,
in each block giving notice thereof, no person shall park a
vehicle of any kind for longer than two (2) hours at any time
between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. of any day, except
Sundays and legal holidays, (as defined by Subsection [j] of
Section 37, Article II], of Chapter 14 of "The Code of the City
of Plainview, Texas, 1957"), within the district or upon any of
the street or streets or any portion of the street or streets
described in and set out in Schedule 3 of this section.

This ordinance shall become effective the 12th day of
December, 1978e
SEVERANCE.CLAUSE: That should any section, paragraph,
sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance be declared
unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of
this ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
That the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause
publication of this ordinance in the Pla. inview Daily Herald
in accordance with Articel 13, Section 101 of the City Charter
of the City of Plainview.
AN IT IS THEREFORE ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLAINVIEW:
That on a motion by Alderman Browning, seconded by Alderman
Almon, Ordinance No. 78-2279 was read in full and adopted this
date and introduced on first reading this the 5th day of December
1978. '
That on a motion by Alderman Almon, seconded by Alderman Woods,
Ordinance No. 78-2279 was read by caption and adopted by the City
Council on second and final reading this the 12th day of December
1978. '
