AN ORDINANCE AMENDING' ORDINANCE NO.690 PROVIDING FOR
THE APPOINTMENT OF THREE ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO SERVE
ON THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview,-Texas,
has determined that it would be in the best interest of the
public to appoint alternate members to serve at the regular,
special or emergency meetings of the City Planning Commission
in the absence of a member of said Commission.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS:
Section 2 of the City Planning Commission of the City of
Plainview, Texas, is hereby amended 'to read as follows:
There is hereby created a City Planning Commission, to be
composed of nine (9) members, seven (7) of whom shall be
appointed by the City Council, and shall be residents in
and real property tax payers of the City, and shall have
resided in the City not less than five (5) years; the
other two (2}~ members shall be the Building Official
and the City Engineer. The Building official and the
city engineer shall be ex officio members acting in an
advisory capacity and without the power to vote. The
seven (7) appointed members of the City Planning
Commission shall be appointed by the City Council.
Alternate Members: City Council shall appoint a first
alternate, second alternate, and third alternate member
of the City Planning Commission to serve at the regular~
special or emergency meetings of the City Planning Com-
misszon in the absence of a member of such Commission.
A~y alternate member serving on the Commission at a
regular, special or emergency meeting of the City Planning
Commission shall be a voting member with all of the
duties and authorities of a CoH~ission member.
Alternate members of the City Planning Commission shall
be appointed in the same manner and method as is pro-
vided for the appointment of all other officers of the
City in Section 7 of the Charter of the City of Plainview.
