AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS
OF THE C][TY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 15.152 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY
LIES AD2ACENT TO AND ADJOINS WITH THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF
THE CITY' OF P~LAiNVIEW, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the
City of l~'t~ai~iiz~W~ Texas where all interested persons were provided
with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
following described territory;
Being a 15.152 acre tract out of the Southeast part of the West One-
half of Survey No. 27, Block JK-2 Plainview, ,~ale County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a corner of the present City Limits of Platnview, said
corner being 507.9 feet north of the south line and 1,040.0 feet west of
t~e east line of the West One-half of Survey No. 27, Block JK-2, Plainview
Hale County, Texas;
Thence N.0°O0'30"E. 2,005.1 feet along the west line of the present
City Limits as annexed July 6, 1970 by Ordinance No. 70-1098, to a point;
Thence N.89°58'09"E. 747.68 feet along the north'line of said present
City Limits, to a point;
Thence Northeasterly, a distance of 232.86 feet along the present Cit~
Limits as annexed September 20, 1965 by Ordinance No. 65-894, around a
cur~ve to the right, having a radius point bearing S.73°32'08"E. 3,514.93
facet, a central angle of 3o47'45'' and a chord bearing N.18°21'44"E. 232.82
feet to a point in the south line of the Canadian River Municipal Water
Authority, 66 foot wide easement as recorded in Volume 491, Page 96 of
the Hale County Deed Records:
Thence N.89°08'35"W. 1,036.17 feet along the south line of said ease-
ment to at point;
Thence S.0°O0'30"W. 2,242.08 feet along a line parallel and 37.5 feet
west of a 16.397 acre tract to a point in the present City Limits as
annexed March 11, 1975 by Ordinance No. 75-1736;
Thence N.89°58'O9"E. 215.07 feet along said City Limit line parallel
and 507.9 feet north of the south line of said Survey to the POINT OF
BEGINNING and containing 15.152 .acres.
sa:id hearing being held at the City Council Chambers on the RBrd day
of September, A.D. 1980, which date is not more than twenty days nor
less that ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings;
and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Plainview, Texas,
and in the above d~escribed territomy on the 5th day of September,
A.D. 1980, which date is not more than twenty days nor less than ten
days prior to the public hearing on the topic of annexation proceedings;
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Plainview, Texas, is
, inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the above des'cribed territory lies within the extra-
territorial jurisdiction of the City of Plainview, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the territory above described lies adjacent to and
adjoins the City of Plainview, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the territory above described contains 15.152 acres;
and
WHEREAS, a petition has been signed and acknowledged by the
owners of all of the land in the above described territory requesting
the annexation of such territory by the City of Plainview, Texas
and such petition has been filed with the City Council; now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS:
Section 1. The following described land and territory lying
adjacent to and-adjoining with the City of Plainview, Texas is hereby
added and annexed to the City of Plainview, Texas, and said territory
hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary
limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, and the present boundary limits
of such city, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter
described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within
the corporate limits of the City of Plainview, Texas, to-wit:
Being a 15.152 acre tract out of the Southeast part of the West One-

Section 2.. The above described territory and the area so annexed
shall be a part of the City of Plainview, Texas, and the property so
added hereby shall bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the
City of Plainview, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled
to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be
bound by the acts, ordinances~and regulations of the City of Plainview,
Texas.
Section 3. The ordinance shall be 'published and passed i6 the
manner provided in Section 4 of the Charter of the City of
Plainview, Texas.
