AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 76-1983 ESTABLISHING NEW RATES
AND CHARGES FOR CABLE TELEVISION SERVICE FURNISHED-BY PLAINVIEW CABLE
T-V COMPANY AND CALLING A PUBLIC HEARING AS REQUIRED BY FRANCHISING
ORDINANCE NO. 795.
WHEREAS, on January 29, 1981 the Plainview Cable.Television Company
submitted a request to the Plainview City Council to amend the rates
charged to Cable T=V customers within the incorporated city limits of
Plainview; and
WHEREAS, the .franchising ordinance approved by the Plainview City
Council on September 16, 1963 requires that notice of change in rates
be submitted at least thirty (30) days prior to a public hearing.
SECTION 1: Plainview Cable TV Company shall place into
effect the schedUle of rates attached hereto and marked "Exhibit A",
to be charged by it for the cable television services therein described.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or part of ordinances heretofore passed
by the City of Plainview establishing rates and charges for cable television
service in conflict herewith are hereby repealed effective with the
establishment of the rates authorized in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3: Nothing contained in this ordinance shall be construed
now or hereafter as~limited or modifying, in any way or manner, the right
and power of the City of Plainview to regulate the rates and charges of
Plainview Cable TV Company.
PASSED AND APPROVED this first reading the 10th day of February,
1981.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the second and final reading the 10th
day of March , 1981.

considered for a rate adjustment of $1.00 for our monthly basic service
charges and a change in our installation charge from $6.00 to $10.0~ as

PAYM~&T POLICY
The rates for installation of equipment and regular subscriber-services shall be
nondiscriminatory and shall be as set forth in this Schedule~ provided that nothing
contained herein shall be deemed to prohibit reasonable promotional rates which may,
from time to time~ be less than the rates set forth herein.
Ail bills are due and payable upon receipt~
DISCOUNT POLICY
A customer wishing to pay service charges one year in advance will receive a dis-
count equal to 5% of the net billing amount° If disconnected during the prepaid
year~ the customer,s refund will be red~ced by the full amount of the discount.
PRE-WIRING NEW CONSTRUCTION
Drop wire will be furnished~ at no charge, to electricians or building contractors
for the purpose of pre-wiring dwellings or busin~esses for CATV outlets, if
company is requested to furnish labor for pre-wiring, the appropriate installation
charge will apply and is payable at the time of order.
SERVICE OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS
Installation and service charge rates for specific areas.w%thin a reasonable dis-
tance outside the city limits will be quoted by the Manager upon request. These
rates will be based on the cost of providing and m~intaining the service request-
ed.
UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION
For information on underground drops or underground plant construction~ arrange-
ments nmst be made with the Manager. Additional installation charges may apply.
