DRIVE IN THE CITY OF PLAINVIEG,1, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; AMID
PROVIDING FOR THE PASSAGE OF SUCH ORDINANCE AS AN Cy,
'GJHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, has determined
that it would be in the best interest of the public to provide a maximum l;m~t
of speed of 20 miles per hour on a portion of Grandview Drive in the City of
Plainview, Texas from the intersection of Grandview Drive and the Olton Highway
thence in a southwesterly direction along Grandview Drive for a distance of 72I
feet.
~]~~~ , ORE , HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAIN-
SECTION 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any automobile,
~torcyc e motor scooter, or any type of motor vehicle which is self-propelled
at a speed greater than 20 miles per hour on a portion of Grandview Drive in the
City of Plainview, Texas, from the intersection of Grana'view Drive and the O1ton
Hi-ghway thence in a southwesterly direction along Grandvz.ew Drive for a distance
of 721 feet.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or part of any ordinance of the City of Plain-
view,~s; in. conflict herewith are hereby amended to conform with the pro-
visions hereof.
SECTION 3: Any person who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the
provisions c~ this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon
conviction. shall be punished by a fine in the amount of not more than $200.00.
The necessity to provide for a maxi.~:Ram speed on a portion of Grandview
Drive, Plainview, Texas, as set forth herein, creates an urgency and it is an
imperative public necessity that more than. one reading thereof be, and the same
is hereby suspended; this ordinance shall be passed. and take effect as an
emergency measure .and shall be in fu11 force and effect from and after its
pasage as provided by law, and it is so ordained..
PASSED this the 27th day of ~~ 1385, by unanimous vote of the
City Council, City of ~aainview.
