AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 85-2617 CHANGING THE POLLING PLACE
IN VOTING DISTRICT N0. 1 FROM THE CHAMBER OF CON~P.CE TO GRACE PRESBY-
TERIAN CHURCH AND PROVIDING THAT THE BOUNDARY LINES AND POLLING PLACES
FOR EACH OF THE SEVEN SINGLE MEMBER DISTRICTS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE
APPROVAL OF THE VOTING RIGHTS DIVISION OF THE UNITID STATES DEPAR'Il~NT
OF NST; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PASSAGE OF SUCH ORDINANCE AS AN EMER-
GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINID BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, THAT
the following Sections of Ordinance No. 85-2617 shall be and the same are hereby
amended as follows:
Section 3: The following places are hereby .designated as the official
polling places within each district:
District No. 1 po11i?:ig place shall be Grace Presbyterian Church, 11th at
Garland, Plainview, Texas.
District No. 2 polling place shall be First Presbyterian Church, 2101
Utica, Plainview, Texas.
District No. 3 polling place shall be Municipal Court, ~~~ ~ ~~~~
Plainview, Texas. '
All qualified electors shall vote in the election district in which they
reside.
Section $: The boundary lines and polling places for each of the seven
Single M er Districts described in Section 7 of this ordinance, subject to the
approval of the Voting Rights Division of the United States Department of
Justice, shall. constitute the boundary lines and polling places of each of the
seven Single Member Districts until said boundary lines and polling places are
changed by Ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas,
The necessity to amend Section 3 and Section 8 of Ordinance No. 85-2617
creates an emergency and it is an imperative public necessity that mare than one
reading thereof be and the same i.s hereby suspended; this ordinance shall be
passed and take effect as an emergency measure and shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage as provided by law, and it is so ordained.
PASSED this the 3rd day of October 1985 by ~man?.mous vote of the
City Council of the Ci~Plainview, Texas.

SEA ORDENES DEL CONCILIO DEL CUIDAD DE PLAINVIEW, TEXAS., QUE,

la presente rectificacion como sigue;
Seccion 3: Los siguente lugares son por este medio designados
Como Los u~rs officials de eleccion deritro cada distrito.
Distrito Nu. 1 Lugar de eleccion sera Grace Presbyterian Church
por la calle 11th por la ca11e Garland, .Plainview, Texas.
Distrito Nu. Z. Lugar de eleccion sera First Presbyterian Church,
210T Utica St., Plainview, Texas.
Distrito Nu. 3 Lugar de eleccion sera en la Municipal Court,
90~1Austin, Plainview, Texas.
Todo Los electors competentes votaran en el distrito dentro
que ellas vixen.
Secciori 8: Las lineas terminas y Lugar de eleccion para cada

de esta ordenanza, sujeto a la aprobacion de el divicion de Derecho

Sera necesario para emnendar Seccion 3 y Seccion 8 de Ordenanza
Nu. 85-2617 crear un emergencia y es un imperativo necesario publico
que una lectura de esto suspender, esta ordenanza sera pasado y
tomar efecto Como de medida de egnergencia y sera en fuerza fuerte
y efecto desde y despues del pasaje asi Como siempre por Iey, y asi
sera ordenado.
PASADO este el 3 dia de octubre , 1985 por voto unanimo de el
Concilio del Cuidad de Plainview;~as.
