ORDINANCE N0. 85-2521
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT ARTICLE 6687-9a, TITLE 116,
TEXAS REVISED CIVIL STATUTES, SHALL NOT APPLY WITHIN THE
INCORPORATED LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature during its 1985 legislative
session created article 6687-9a, Title 116, Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat.,
entitled `.`Vehicle Storage Facility Act;"
WHEREAS, Section 13 of said article provides that the govern-
ing body of a city by ordinance may provide that said article and
rules adopted under said article do not apply within the incor-
porated limits of the city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas
finds that it would be in the best interest of the citizens of the
City of Plainview, Texas that said article not apply within the
incorporated limits of the City of Plainview, Texas,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS THAT:
Section. l: Article 6687-9a, Title 116, Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat.,
and the rules adopted under said article do not apply within the
incorporated limits of the City of Plainview, Texas.
Section. 2: The City Secretary is authorized and directed to
deliver or mail a copy of this ordinance to the Texas Department of
Labor and Standards immediately upon its taking effect.
