ORDINANCE NO. 85-2632
AN ORDINAI~TCE APPI~IING AN INCREASE IN THE RATES WHICH MAY
BE CHARGED BY SOUTHWESTERN PUBT~IC SERVICE COMPANY IN THE
CITY'OF P7LAIl~lVIEW, TEXAS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE FOR SUCH RATES.
LuHEREAS, on August 30, 1985, Southwestern Public Service Company
filed with the City of Plainview a request for an increase in rates to
be charged within, the City and
WHEREAS, the City, having received the Application for such
proposed rate increase. and having conducted an informal public hearing
thereon in accordance with Section 43Ec) of the Public Regulatory Act at
which it considered the analysis of its rate consultants, evidence from
representatives of Southwestern Public Service Company and con-anents from
the public; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that an increase in rates in the
amount hereafter set forth should be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINID BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PIAINVIEW, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That an increase in the rates, tariffs, and charges of
Southwestern Public Service Connpany for electric power and energy sold
within the .City of Plainview be approved in an amount that as applied to
the Texas retail system will increase the system wide operating revenues
for said company by $28,000,000.00 based on annualized test year usage.
SECTION 2. Southwestern Public Service-Company's Schedule of Rates
and Tariffs, as are hereby approved, are those under which said Company
shall be authorized to render electric service and to collect charges
from its customers in accordance therewith for the sale of electric
power and energy within the corporate limits of the City of Plainview on
and after January 1,.1986, and until such time as said Rates, and Tariffs
might be changed, modified, amended or withdrawn.
SECTION 3. What the action of the City Council of the City of
Plainview enacting this ordinance constitutes, on its. effective date, a
final determination of rates for Southwestern Public Service Company in
accordance with section 43 of the Public Utility Regulatory Act.
PASSED AND APPROVF,D by the City Council of the City of Plainview,
Texas on first reading this the 10th day of December, 1985; and passed
on second and final reading the 23rd day of December, 1985.
