BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAIN~TIEW, TEXAS: SECTION I: Iri accordance with the statutes provided and the Charter of that City of Plainview, an election shall be held in and for the City of Plainview on the first Saturday in April, 1986, the same being. the fifth day of the. month, for the election of (1) a Mayor for the. City of Plainview; (2) for the election of one Councilman for Precinct One on the City of Plainview; (3) for. the elction of one alderman for Precinct Tvao on the City Council of the City of Plainview; (4) for the election of one alderman for Precinct Three on the City Council of the City of Plainview; (5) for the election of one Councilman for Precinct Four on the City Council of the City of Plainview. SECTION 2: .That said election shall be held in each of the designated precincts within the City and at the designated polling places within each district provided by ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas. S~'I'I~V 4: It is further provided that the maximum number of clerks which shall be appointed to service iri said election shall not be in excess of fifteen persons for each district. SECTION 5: 'Ine officers of the City of Plainview, Texas to be Plected are as follows: 1. A Mayor 2. A Councilman to fill Precinct One on the City Council of the City of Plainview as designated in Section 202 of the Charter of the City of Plainview, Texas. 3. A Councilman to fill Precinct Two on the City Counci_1 of the City of Plainview as designated in Section 202 of the Charter of the City of Plainview, Texas. ', 4. A Councilman to fill Precinct Three on the City Council of the City of Plainview as designated in Section 202 of the Charter of the ', City of Plainview, Texas, as amended. 5. A Councilman to fill Precinct Four on the City Council of the ', City of Plainview as designated in Section 202 of the Charter of the City of Plainview, Texas, as amended. SECTION 6: Said election shall be held under and in accordance with the .provisions of the statutes of the State of Texas and Charter of the City of Plainview, Texas, and all persons qualified to vote in said City under the Election Laws of the Slate of Texas shall be allowed to vote there. Said election shall be held and the polls shall be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and all electors shall vote in the voting precinct in which said voter resides and the place provided for voting in said voting as provided in Ordinance No. 81-2477, as amended, of the City of Plainview,Texas. SECTION 7: Notice of said election shall be given by posting and by publication of a copy of this Ordinance, and at the top of which shall appear the .words "Notice of Regular Municipal .Election for the Purpose of Electing Officers of the City of Plainview, Texas." Thirty days previous notice of said election shall be given by posting a copy of this Ordinance in -the seven public places in said City of Plainview in each of the voting precincts provided for in Ordinance No. 8i-2477, as amended, of the City of Plainview, Texas, one of which notices shall be posted. at the polling places designated for the City Election. Notice by publication shall also be made by publishing notice of said election in the Plainview Daily Herald (a newspaper of general circulation in Plainview, Texas) said publication to be not more than. twenty-five days nor less than ten days pr%or to the election. r ,-- _ ,_ f f Section 3: Said election shall be conducted by the following who are hereby appointed. to hold said election. 1. Velon Townsen Consuelo Soliz and ~Marciaret Diaz are hereby appointed as the election officials of Precinct 1. Consuelo Soliz shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No, 1. Roland McCutcheon is hereby appointed first alternate judge to act as presiding judge of Precinct No. 1 in the event that Consuelo Solz is-for any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. J.J. Williamson and Mrs. Mavis Williamson are hereby appointed as the election officials of Precinct 2. J.J. Williamson shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 2. Mrs. .Mavis Williamson is hereby appointed first alternate judge to act as presiding judge. of Precinct No. 2 in the event that J.J. Williamson is for any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. Betty Hurt and Bernadine Nobles are hereby appointed as the election officials of Precinct 3. Betty Hurt shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 3. is hereby appointed first alternate judge to act as presiding judge of Precinct No. 3 in the event that .Betty Hurt is for. any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. Mrs. L.A. Royal and Mrs. Anita Maldonado are hereby appointed as the election officials of Precinct 4. Mrs. L.A. Royal shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 4 and Mrs. .Anita Maldonado is hereby appointed first alternate judge to act as presiding judge of Precinct 4 in the event that Mrs. L.A. Royal is for any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. Karen Sandlin and Leta Bennett are hereby appointed as the election officials of Precinct 5. Karen Sandlin shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 5 and Leta Bennett shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 5 in the event that Karen 5andlin. is for any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. Mrs. Jack Ford and Mrs. Maude Brown are hereby .appointed as the election officials of Precinct 6. Mrs. Jack Ford. shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 6 and Mrs. Maude Brawn shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 6 in the. event that Mrs. Jack Ford is for. any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. Velon Townsen and Mrs. Lillian Tawrisen are hereby appointed as the election officials of Precinct 7. Velon Toumsen shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 7 and Mrs. Lillian Tcxn~nsen shall act as the presiding judge of Precinct No. 7 in the event that Velon Townsen is for any reason unable to serve as such presiding judge. ,,- ,, ~ _ SECTION 8: A copy of this Ordinance shall be also. be served upon each of the election officials who have been designated to hold the electian.
