HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-2638 ordORDINANCE N0. 86-2E38 AfV ORDIiJAiVCE PROVIDIfJG FOR A MAXIMUM SPEED ON A PORTION OF ENNIS STREET IN THE 'CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; Whereas, after an engineering and a traffic investigation, the City Council of the City of P1.ainview, Texas, tias determined that it would be in the best interest of the public to provide a maximum limit of speed of 35 miles per hour on a portion of Ennis Street in the City of Plainview, Texas, beginning at its intersection with O1ton Highway south to its intersection with S.W. 3rd 'Street. NOW'THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS: Section l: It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any automobile, motorcycle, motor scooter, or any type of motor vehicle which is self-propelled at a speed greater than 35 miles per hour on a portion of Enrris Street in the City of Plainview, Texas, beginning at its intersection with the Olton Highway south to its intersection with S.W. 3rd. Street. Section 2: All Ordinances or part of any Ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas, in conflict herewith are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof . Section 3: Any person.. who shall violate or fail to comply with any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of an misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a -fine of not less than One Dollar ($l!00) nor more than-Two.
