*The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Gary gave the invocation.
*Special guest was Dorothy Russell.
* Minutes of the August 8th meeting were approved as presented.
*Irma gave the financial report for July.
*Volunteers will be going today to the prison for "My Dad Reads to Me". They plan to
record 7 dads.
*The September Birthday Recognition will be September 13th at McDonald's.
McDonald's in Littlefield held their first Birthday Recognition in August.
*Erma reported that the Federal Financial Report is due at the end of the month.
*Two of the community gardeners want to keep their plots through the fall and winter
months.
*Plans for 44h Annual RSVP Banquet were discussed. Date will be October 17'h at St.
Alice's with Weekends BBQ catering. The theme will be "Join Our Rising Stars".
*Ideas for a raffle were discussed.
*Special cards were given to veterans in nursing homes, assisted living and senior living
apartments on Patriot's Day (9{11).
*Irma reported on the State Quarterly Conference Call which emphasized the aftermath
of the recent hurricane on the Texas coast.
*Lunch Bunch met on August 31' for a program by Lori Brown with Paragon Health
Care Group. The topic was "Fitness for Life: More Than Just Exercise".
*The next meeting will be October I e.
*Twyla reported 3 new volunteers. Ballots were distributed for Volunteer of the Year.
*Meeting was adjourned.
