ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 9, 2017

*The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Gail Williams gave the invocation.
* Minutes of the April 18`h meeting were approved after correction.
*Irma gave the financial report for March.
*Jerry Cooper of Lockney is the Volunteer of the Month.
* "My Dad Reads. to Me" has slowed down. Four dads read to 7 children with 21 books being
shipped..
*The May Birthday Recognition will be May Kith at McDonald's.
*Irma reported that the grant reports were submitted before the deadline.
*There was greatresponse to thd-reoenfUSDARuralDevelopment program. Irma has
applications available.in.her office.
*Irma will be attending the Southwest National Service Training Conference in Phoenix, AZ on
May 22-24.
*The community gardens are going well.
*Senior Corps week is May 15-19. A movie night at the Fair Theatre is planned for Thursday,
May 18`h at 5:30 PM. Irma plans to feature an RSVP volunteer in the newspaper each day that
week.
*The RSVP golf tournament will be June 17`h.
*Flags will be placed on the graves of veterans for Memorial Day.
*The next meeting will be June I.P.
*Twyla reported a total of 342 volunteers with 213 serving 5691 hours.
*Meeting was adjourned.
