Main Street Board Meeting
Minutes
06-04-2018
The Main Street Coordinating Board met on Monday, June 4, 2018 at noon in the Fair Theater.
Members attending the meeting were Ranada Jack, Andrea Glenn, Kelly Alison, Tonya Keesee, Dora Sanchez,
Tori Huddleston, Phyllis Wall and Melinda Brown.
Ranada called the meeting to order at 12:08 P.M.

RELATIONSHIP ASSIGNMENTS:
Ranada handed out a
of inquiry to the closed properties on Broadway and around the courthouse. She had not received any
responses to date.
Affordability
Parking
Needs of the business and property owners
the Plainview Chamber of Commerce does this on a regular basis. Tonya said she
would pass this information on to Dora
FAÇADE GRANT DISCUSSION
:
Kelly suggested that the façade grant be changed from $500 to $1500 with fewer grants awarded.
This would allow property owners to consider updating their facades and to follow the new color
palette recommendations.
Melinda suggested that we look at the current grant structure before continuing the discussion. She
said she would email it out to all members.
Kelly moved to table the discussion until members had read through the current structure, shooting

to make the new rules effective Oct. 1 and that would give us the next two months to decide how to
frame the new Façade grant application.
Andrea seconded and the motion carried.
COMMITTEE DISCUSSION:
Committee heads were mentioned and everyone agreed that Stephanie from The Radiant Lily
should work with Main Street to design appropriate color palette for future façade grants.
Organization heads were confirmed to be Tori and Melinda
There are no notes on the Promotional and Economic Restructuring Committees
HOT GRANTS:
Ranada brought up the HOT grant application for Panhandle Parade of Breeds
There was a short discussion, Andrea moved that we approve the grant, Tonya seconded and the
motion carried
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Summer Movie at the Fair Tori needs help on Wednesday afternoons at 5:30pm and at 1:30pm for
the 2pm showings.

There is a Main Street Conference for managers and board members in Amarillo on July 11 13.
June 30 is Operation Serve and those interested should contact the Methodist Church
Red White and Moo- 2 people are needed to direct traffic
On July 16, KCBD will do community coverage in Plainview

Phyllis brought up 2 Saturday and Tonya offered to help with Street signs.
Ranada adjourned the meeting 1:03pm
