ORDINANCE NO. 01-3305
An Ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas providing for changing
the name of Drake Street to Calle Daly, Hilton Street to El Barrio
Road, Davidson Street to Calle Hinojosa, Yoakum Street to Calle
Lopez, Winchell Street to Calle Martinez, Gray Street to Calle
Sepeda, Nixon Street to Calle Favila, Milwee Street to Calle
Mancias, and Rock Island Street to Calle Soto; cumulativeness
clause; conflicts clause; severability clause; and effective date.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, recognizes
the El Barrio Committee's request for name change;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, recognizes
the need to honor the great families and all of their contribution not only to their
neighborhood, but to the entire city, county and all of its residences as well;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, has
determined that it would be in the best interest of the public that Drake Street be
changed to Calle Daly, Hilton Street be changed to El Barrio Road, Davidson
Street be changed to Calle Hinojosa, Yoakum Street be changed to Calle Lopez,
Winchell Street be changed to Calle Martinez, Gray Street be changed to Calle
Sepeda, Nixon Street be changed to Calle Davila, Milwee Street be changed to
Calle Mancias, and Rock Island be changed to Calle Soto, said portions to be
renamed described as follows:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview that:
SECTION 1
All of Drake Street from Rock Island Street to Davidson Street, which lies in the
Frisco Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to Calle Daly.
All of Hilton Street from 9th Street to El Camino/Main Street, which lies in the
Frisco Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to El Barrio
Road.
All of Davidson Street from Frisco Street to Chapin Street, which lies in the Frisco
Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to Calle Hinojosa.

All of Yoakum Street from Rock Island Street to El Camino Street, which lies in
the Frisco Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to Calle
Lopez.
All of Winchell Street from Frisco Street to Chapin Street, which lies in the Frisco
Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to Calle Martinez.
All of Gray Street from Davidson Street to El Camino Street, which lies in the
Frisco Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to Calle
Sepeda.
All of Nixon Street from Davidson Street to El Camino Street, which lies in the
Frisco Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is 'hereby changed to Calle
Favila.
All of Milwee Street from Frisco Street to 11th Street, which lies in the Molino
Addition Revised, Plainview, Hale County, Texas is hereby changed to Calle
Mancias.
All of Rock Island Street from Frisco Street to Chapin Street, which lies in the
Molino Addition Revised and Frisco Addition, Plainview, Hale County, Texas, is
hereby changed to Calle Soto.
SECTION II
Provisions of this ordinance are cumulative and nothing herein shall prevent, alter,
or diminish the applicability or enfomement of other ordinances restricting,
regulating or governing the subject matter herein.
SECTION III
All ordinances or portions of any ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas in conflict
herewith, are hereby amended to conform with the provisions hereof.
SECTION IV
Should any section, subsection, or any portion hereof be deemed invalid for any
reason, such holding shall not render or invalidate any other section, sub-section,
sentence, provision, clause, phrase, or word severable there from and the same
shall be deemed severable for this purpose.
SECTION V
This ordinance shall be of full force and effect upon its passage and publication
as required by law.
