ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 9, 2019

*The meeting was called to order by Vice President Joe Provence. Gail Thrasher gave the
prayer.
* Minutes of the March meeting were approved after one correction. RSVP will be
receiving a grant of $46,500 a year for three years.
*The Volunteer of the Month is Kathy Hunter.
*Irma gave the financial report for February.
*"My Dad Reads to Me" will be recording 8 dads reading to 22 children. RSVP has been
presented the Governor's Criminal Justice Volunteer Service Award for "My Dad Reads
to Me".
*The April Birthday Recognition will be April 10th at McDonald's.
*Grant reports are due at the end of April.
*The National Service Recognition Day event was held on March 28`h at Covenant
Hospital.
*Erma will be attending a Senior Corps Seminar on May 8-9 in Bethesda, Maryland.
*Belle Briseno has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Governor's office.
*The Hike & Bike Trail cleanup will be April 171h
*Gardeners at the community gardens are getting ready for spring planting.
*The Drug Enforcement Agency is having a Drug Take Back Day on April 27th at
Hometown Pharmacy.
*Lunch Bunch met on April 25th for a program by Cassie Pfeiffer, USDA area specialist
for Rural Development.
*The next meeting will be May 14, 2019.
*Cassandra reported a total of 353 volunteers with 217 serving 4,609 hours in February.
* Ballots for Volunteer of the Month were distributed.
*Meeting was adjourned.
