ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
FEBRUARY 12, 2019

*The meeting was called to order by Vice President Joe Provence. Gail Thrasher gave the
prayer.
* Minutes of the January 8th meeting were approved.
*Irma gave the financial report for December.
*Judy Gattis was introduced as Volunteer of the Month.
*Tara Walker is now an official board member.
*"My Dad Reads to Me" has recorded 13 dads reading to 24 children with 48 books
shipped.
*The February Birthday Recognition will be February 13th at McDonald's.
*Irma read a thank you note from the Sudan group.
*Irma reported that the three grant reports due in January were completed on time.
*The Corporation for National and Community Service will now be using Truescreen and
Fieldprint to do criminal history background checks for individuals in covered postions.
*National Service Recognition Day will be April 2°a. Irma plans to have a service project
through Snack Pak 4 Kids.
*Gardeners at the community gardens are getting ready for the upcoming spring planting.
*Irma announced at Cassandra Gary has been hired as the new volunteer assistant.
*Lunch Bunch will meet on February 281".
*The next meeting will be March 12, 2019.
*Irma reported a total of 356 volunteers with 227 serving 5,048 hours in December.
* Ballots for Volunteer of the Month were distributed.
*Meeting was adjourned.
