A RESOLUTION OF THE PLAINVIEW CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PLAINVIEW, TEXAS REGARDING SUPPORT FOR HOMELAND
SECURITY- SOUTH PLAINS CITIZEN CORPS AND IT'S SUB-
PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS KNOWN
AS CERT, VOLUNTEERS IN POLICE SERVICE KNOWN AS VIPS,
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH KNOWN AS NWP, FIRE CORPS AND
MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS KNOWN AS MRC.
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Plainview, that the Plainview City Council supports the South Plains
Citizen Corps program and it's sub-programs, Community Emergency Response Teams
known as CERT, Volunteers in Police Service known as VIPS, Neighborhood Watch
Program known as NWP, Fire Corps and the Medical Reserve Corps known as MRC.
WHEREAS, the Plainview City Council believes that the Souih Plains Citizen
Corps and its sub-programs CERT, VIPS, NWP, Fire Corps and MRC will be very
beneficial not only to the Citizens of the City of Plainview but also to the South Plains
Region.
WHEREAS, the City of Plainview applauds the South Plains Citizen Corps and
its sub-programs, CERT, VIPS, NWP, Fire Corps and MCR for their conscientious work
on behalf of the City of Plainview. The South Plains Citizen Corps an efficient
organization maintains an excellent sense of leadership and is of the highest integrity.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Plainview City Council supports
the efforts of the South Plains Citizens Corps and its sub-programs CERT, VIP, NWP,
Fire Corps and MRC of Texas and the Board of Directors for the South Plains
Association of Governments.
