ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 13, 2019

*The meeting was called to order by Vice President Joe Provence. Rodney Watson gave
the prayer.
* Minutes of the July meeting were approved.
*Nancy Cox was recognized as Volunteer of the Month for July.
*Twyla Woodring is the latest Volunteer of the Month.
*Irma gave the financial report for June.
*"My Dad Reads to Me" has recorded 7 dads reading to 10 children with 20 books
shipped.
*The August Birthday Recognition will be August 14th at McDonald's. Littlefield will
have their Birthday Recognition in September.
* Federal Grant reports were submitted on time. Funds from the state grant will end this
month.
*RSVP picked up trash on the Hike and Bike trail as a part of Operation Service and city-
wide cleanup on July 27. Twenty-six pallets of damaged bottles of water were used to
water the trees along the trail.
*Lunch Bunch will meet on August 291h.
*RSVP received a $2500 grant from the WalMart store for the community gardens.
*The l 11h Annual RSVP Golf Tournament took place on August 3`d. A detailed report
will given at the next meeting.
*RSVP plans to honor first responders on September 11`n for Patriots Day. They will
receive thank you notes and cross,/flag pins along with cookies.
*Plans are underway for the 40h Annual Volunteer Banquet on October ISM.
*The next meeting will be September I01h
*Lisa reported a total of 349 volunteers with 250 serving 5,612 hours in June.
* Ballots for Volunteer of the Month were distributed.
*Meeting was adjourned.
