A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS., .CALLING AND SETTING THE DATE FOR THE REGULAR
MUNICIPAL ELECTION; DESIGNATING THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR
AT=LARGE AND COUNCILMEMBER FOR DISTRICTS 5, 6, AND 7
RESPECTIVELY; DESIGNATING DISTRICTS AND POLLING PLACES;
DESIGNATING EARLY VOTING. DATES, HOURS, AND LOCATIONS;
DESIGNATING THE- DISTRICT POLLING PLACE JUDGES; SETTING
THE HOURLY RATE FOR ELECTION OFFICIALS AND ePOSTING
NOTICE OF ELECTION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the -statutes of the State of Texas and the Charter
of the City of Plainview, an election shall be held 'in and for the City:of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, the election shall be held on the first Saturday in May, 2020, the same
being May 2;.2020; and
WHEREAS, Section 85.001(e) :provides that for an election held on the uniform
election date in May and any resulting runoff election, the period for early voting by
personal appearance begins on the 12th day before election day and continues through
the fourth day before election day.
WHEREAS, Section 86.005 (d) of the Texas. Election Code further requires -that in
an election. ordered -by a city, .early voting by personal appearance at the main early voting
polling place shall be conducted for at least 12 hours: (1) on one weekday, if the early
voting period consists of less than six weekdays; or (2) on two weekdays, if the :early
voting .period consists of six or more weekdays; and
WHEREAS, all persons qualified to vote in. said election under the Election Laws
of the State of Texas shall be allowed to vote therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, THAT:.
SECTION 1
An election shall be held in. the City of Plainview, Texas on the. 2"d day of May,
2020. Said election :is to elect a Mayor at -large and Councilrnembers for Districts 5, 6
and 7.
SECTION 2
All electors shall vote in the'voting district .in which said voter resides, and 'at the
polling place provided for voting as designated in Section 3 of this Resolution.

SECTION 3
The election shall be held in the designated district within the City, at the
designated polling place within the district as designated below:

SECTION 4
Early voting by personal appearance will. be conducted: each weekday at 9.01
Broadway, Plainview; Texas:between the hours of-8:00 a.m. and '5:00 p.m. beginning -on
April 20, 2020 and ending on April 28,2020. On Tuesday, April 21, 2020 and Monday,
April 27, 2020 earlyvoting by personal appearance will be conducted'between the.:hours
of 7:00 a.m. and, 7:00.p.m. as required by Section 85.005 (d) of the Texas Election -Code.

SFCTION 5
Said election shall have as its Early Voting Ballot Board presiding election judge; Jackie
Lopez. On May 2, 2020, the polling place judges will be as follows:
District 1 Polling Place Judge —Louisa Padilla
District 2 Polling Place Judge - Rachel Salazar
District 3 Polling Place Judge — Alecia Johnson
District 4 Polling Place Judge : Sally Salinas
District 5 Polling Place Judge - Georgia Wall
District 6 Polling Place Judge - Breana Figueroa=
District 7 Polling Place Judge -.Manuel Marin
SECTION 6
It is further ,provided that the hourly rate for presiding election judges shall not
exceed $10.00 per hour, and the hourly rate for clerks shall not exceed $8.00 per hour..
SECTION.7
A copy of this resolution shall also be served upon the election officials designated
to hold the election.
Notice of this election shall be given in accordance with the:provisions of the Texas
Election Code and returns -of such notice shall be made as provided for in=said Code.
